Colin Clout Award

The Colin Cloud award is designed to recognise critics and scholars who have made exceptional contributions to the field of Spenser studies, usually on the basis of a career-long commitment. We seek to celebrate those who have not only furthered scholarship in the field in exciting ways but those who have also embodied the spirit of all that the ISS stands for, honouring those who have championed equality and inclusiveness, fostered the work of those earlier in their career, acted as a mentor for many Spenser scholars and helped make the Spenser community a collegial and kind place.

Formal nominations are made by the Executive Committee and Officers (after advice and suggestions from society members), who then vote upon a recipient. Awards are presented at our annual Maclean event.
